Kylie Jenner is facing backlash for spending her billion dollar fortune on luxury shoe shopping rather than using the money to help the Amazon rain forest that is burning down.
Lots of celebrities have been spreading the word and bringing awareness to the devastating wildfires burning down the Amazon rain forest in Brazil that is killing the planet, except Kylie Jenner. The 22-year-old billionaire shared on Instagram that she “Went shoe shopping today,” showing off black Gucci sandals with crystals that retail for $1,250, black and white Balenciaga heels that sell for $995, and red Balenciaga heels with a satin lace up tie that she was “in love” with.
Kylie also modeled Bottega Veneta black slip on slide sandals and showed off a photo her entire massive shoe closet, asking “I have a problem?”
Apparentlt, now she does, as fans are blasting her for spending all that money on shoes but not donating money to help fight the fires in the Amazon, which produces 20 percent of the planet’s oxygen. She can’t fix the problem herself, but fans felt she should try to help bring awareness to the crisis rather than showing off her luxury shoe closet.
“Kylie Jenner be like buying her 673838th pair of Gucci shoes meanwhile amazon forest is BURNING. Girlie has tons of money and tons of followers, she could at least post something to her ig story&raise awareness,” a user named Dawn tweeted, while a woman named Katie pointed out that “Kylie Jenner has enough money to help save the Amazon Rain Forest. But instead, she is buying her 650th pair of shoes.”

“The amazon is on fire and Kylie Jenner just posted her extensive collection of designer shoes,” another person tweeted. In all fairness to Kylie, none of her famous sisters have mentioned anything about the crisis in the Amazon on their Instagram pages. But since Kylie’s the richest being the only billionaire in the family, her ill-timed brag about adding pricey shoes to her already massive collection didn’t sit well with some fans considering the ongoing destruction of the rain forest.
Hopefully the backlash will convince Kyle and other rich celebrities to have a more humanitarian and conservation message to balance out the bling-bling from now on.
